At the HKSH Geriatric Medicine Centre (Healthy Ageing), we are dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care for the elderly members of your family. As part of this commitment, we work towards enhancing the quality of life of our senior patients through personalised medical services. We understand the unique health challenges faced by older adults and strive to offer the best possible care to meet their needs.
Our services are aimed at preventing, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic geriatric illnesses. We also address any rehabilitation, psychological and social needs of our elderly patients to help them achieve healthy ageing.
In addition to our comprehensive medical services, we offer palliative care to support patients and their families during difficult times. Our goal is to provide comfort, dignity and the highest quality of life possible, even in cases of serious illness.
Services
We offer comprehensive services to support the health and well-being of the elderly:
- Assessments, treatment, rehabilitation and follow-up management for common chronic diseases in the elderly, such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, osteoporosis, falls, respiratory problems, immobility, joint disorders, cognitive disorders, hypertension and diabetes.
- Preventive assessments, healthcare, treatment advice and follow-up services for the young-old to reduce the risk of hypertension, hyperlipidaemia and hyperglycaemia.
- Home visits, assessments, treatment and follow-up services for patients with mobility difficulties and bedridden patients.
- Palliative care for terminally ill patients.
- Community healthcare and education activities for the elderly.
