Pulmonary Function Test
For a comprehensive examination of lung function, a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) will be done to determine whether a restrictive lung defect and/ or air trapping may be presented. Pulmonary Function Test measures obstructive, restrictive and diffusion defect which is important to address how severe the airways are blocked/narrowed, as well as to identify any reversible factors. It also provides information related to the causes of reduced exercise tolerance and whether these can be attributed to the lungs, airways, respiratory muscles or organs other than the lungs.
