Age is a major factor affecting a woman’s fertility. Oocyte cryopreservation can thus be an option for women who want to have children in the future but are not ready to get pregnant at the moment. 

Our gynaecologists/reproductive specialists will advise if you are suitable for egg freezing based on your age, medical history, ovarian function and some further investigations. 

You will receive hormone medications to induce the maturation of multiple eggs. Usually, it requires 8 to 10 days of injections. During the stimulation period, you will undergo multiple blood tests and ultrasound procedures to determine your response to the medication and track the development of ovarian follicles. The egg retrieval procedure will be conducted when the number and size of ovarian follicles are optimal. 

You will undergo egg retrieval procedure by vaginal ultrasound guided needle aspiration under general anesthesia. The procedure takes about 30 to 45 minutes. Generally, 10 to 20 eggs are targeted, but this depends on the actual situation. Your eggs will be prepared and cryopreserved for your own future use.
