Paediatric Haematology & Oncology
When the unthinkable happens, help is at hand.
Nothing is more heart-breaking for parents than to hear their child has been given a diagnosis of cancer. But rather than despair, there is cause for hope. Thanks to improvements in medical technology, the cure rate of child cancers has risen. Today, the vast majority of young patients survive into adulthood and go on to lead happy and fulfilling lives.

How We Can Support You
At HKSH Paediatric Haematology & Oncology Centre we are ready to provide your child with the best care possible using the latest advances in medical technology including targeted therapy, immunotherapy and also our cutting-edge proton therapy system, the first of its kind in Hong Kong.
Staffed by a team of highly capable clinical personnel, the Centre offers wide-ranging assessments and treatments for children with blood diseases (immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), thalassaemia, haemophilia), cancers (leukaemia, myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), neuroblastoma, brain tumours, and other paediatric solid tumours). In addition, we offer cellular therapy including haematopoietic stem cell transplantation, a procedure for restoring a patient’s blood and immune system when it has been damaged by disease or high dosages of chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
Families and/or caregivers of patients can also receive professional support in patient care and psychological counselling throughout the patient journey. While providing treatment, we will do everything in our power to make the patients feel as safe, comfortable and secure as possible.
